350 educators from all school districts in Maryland, from the Maryland State Department of Education, and from member organizations are invited to attend this conference. These educators represent the leaders in education in Maryland, and usually are central office administrators, building principals, officers and executive directors.

Attendance: 350 educators from all school districts in Maryland,
from the Maryland State Department of Education
(MSDE), and from member organizations are invited to
attend this conference. These educators represent the
leaders in education in Maryland, and usually are
central office administrators, building principals,

Registration: School districts, the MSDE, and professional
organizations are given an allocated number of
attendance slots. They invite their participants
and generally pay their registration fee.
Format: One speaker opening the conference, an open dialogue
session for all conference participants, 24 concurrent
sessions, and a reflection activity to end the conference

Additional Information
1. The Conference will be held at the Sheraton Annapolis Hotel.
2. While the Conference theme will continue to be the Best of the Best Practices, the three strands for this year will be Achievement Gap, Leadership, and the Learner in the 21st Century.
3. There will be a speaker during the opening breakfast session. There will not be a speaker during either of the luncheons.
4. There will be 6 one-hour concurrent sessions on Monday and Tuesday. There will be 6 ninety-minute concurrent sessions on Monday and Tuesday. (24 concurrent sessions)
5. While there will be a Call for Proposals, some concurrent session presenters will be invited.
6. There will be a one-hour Open Dialogue session for all conference participants on Monday. Participants will choose to attend a session on one of the conference strands for this year. Participants will be engaging in conversations led by a facilitator. Participants will offer and learn ideas and strategies that support the conference strands based on the knowledge and experiences of the group.
7. Sessions will end at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. This is 45 minutes earlier than last year.
8. The Conference will end at lunch on Tuesday with a Reflection activity.
9. There will be no door prizes.
10. Conference registration fees will remain at 2007 Conference rates.
